Adding Minor Gridlines in Excel

Using Chart Elements

To add minor gridlines to an Excel chart, first create a chart using data from your Excel sheet. Go to the Insert tab, select your desired chart type, and insert it into your sheet. Once the chart is created, click on the chart and the Chart Elements button will appear. Through this button, you can add horizontal or vertical minor gridlines to your chart.

Using Chart Design Tab

Alternatively, you can use the Chart Design tab to add minor gridlines to your Excel chart. Select the chart to activate the Chart Design tab, then choose the option to add minor gridlines. This method also allows you to add either horizontal or vertical gridlines, enhancing the readability of your chart.

Removing Minor Gridlines

If you need to remove minor gridlines from your chart, Excel provides an easy way to do this. You can use the Chart Elements button or the Chart Design tab to deselect the minor gridlines, removing them from your chart.
