Turn on Developer Mode in Excel

To enable Developer mode in Excel, which is available from Excel 2007 through Excel 365, you need to customize the ribbon. This allows access to advanced features such as writing VBA macros, managing add-ins, and inserting ActiveX and Form controls.

Enabling Developer Tab in Excel

Access the Developer tab by customizing the ribbon. This is a one-time setup procedure. To add the Developer tab, go to the File tab, select Options, and then Customize Ribbon. In the customization area, check the Developer box to enable it. The tab will appear after the View tab.

If you need to remove the Developer tab, right-click any tab on the ribbon and select Customize the Ribbon. Clear the Developer box to remove the tab. It can be re-added at any time following the same steps.
