How to Move Multiple Rows in Excel

Preparation for Moving Rows

To move rows in Excel, ensure you have the necessary access. Owner, Admin, or Editor access is required to alter rows and cells within a sheet. The same access level is needed in the destination sheet for row movement.

Using Drag and Drop

Select the rows you wish to move by clicking and dragging over the row numbers. Holding the shift key ensures precise selection. Once selected, drag the rows to the new location within the sheet to reorganize your data quickly.

Using Cut and Insert
